Smalldog lists the their used iMac (with the same specs as mine except mine has more ram) at $800. $1000 may be high but that's why this is just a feeler. I do have some additional software but my son destroyed the discs (love my 1year old!!) I have dmg. of a few of the programs. I realize though that I can't list them on this forum.

Yes you can. Don't argue with me, I have been switching back and forth on Crysis 2 and there is definitely a noticeable difference.
However Games still look good with 1920x1080 on the 27" iMac.
It looks fine at 1920x1080 in games, that's when you would actually use it...

Is that done just by going to accounts, unlocking the lock, right clicking the name and selecting the home folder -- and I presume just making sure it's the same folder that is selected for SL?
Also, given my setup (SSD booting and running SL with my apps) what is the best way to install Lion? I have the dmg. file, so what would I do to make sure I don't wipe out my SSD situation?

Strange. SL works on all my stuff without ever crashing, including my Hackintosh.

What does Spymac offer, exactly?

None of those hard drives in my opinion. Get a Hitachi 500 GB 7200 rpm drive. Best bang for buck. It's quiet, fast, and reliable. There's a reason apple uses them and Toshiba over WD and Seagate. I've had bad experiences with the whole Scorpio line of hard drives. They were always loud and spun up and down at random intervals causing beachballs.
Thanks for the suggestion. It receives good reviews. However, I cannot find one for a good price. The best prices is $178. This is the problem with living in my country.
The reason why I posted those drives is because they are the only ones with non-exorbitant prices.

I bought two of these, one for me, one for my wife. In a random fashion, either the left ear or the right ear will "go deaf". Occasionally both ears will "go deaf". My wife's jack is so loose that it simply separates from the nano with the slightest movement! I get the same problems when I use my Bose earphones. The reason seems to be that the audio jack ports on this product have been manufactured without adequate attention to quality control. Short of returning the nanos, can you think of a solution?

Well, technically they do! However shipping is a bit expensive and i'm hoping they WILL actually ship it. I requested overnight shipping on Wed, and it looks like I am going to have to wait til monday to get the part. not to happy...

However, keep in mind that you're not actually getting 4GB. You actually get 3.7GB, so it might be shaving it a little close in your case. There's no way you're going to be able to expand your music library. However, larger capacity nanos will probably be out in a year-ish, so if you're not planning to buy any music until then or if you're willing to constantly swap music on and off, then things can probably work out.
Get a case for it, for sure.

Technically it should. AFAIK, you should be able to put any speed DDR RAM into a PC and it will clock it down to the necessary speed.
Yeah, it should. And your statement isn't QUITE correct. There was PC1600. (Slower than PC2100,) but it was really unusual. By the time DDR became mainstream, PC2100 was the norm.
